Exterior Painting Project
The thin section of stucco between these two windows was sprayed about 30 minutes before this picture was taken. Both windows were covered with the tape and plastic sheeting method. On a hot summer day the latex dries very quickly. ***Remember, don't pull the plastic until you are finished spraying, the wind can sometimes carry atomized particles of paint through the air and onto uncovered surfaces.

Areas with high heat exhaust like this attic vent can cause the original paint to dry up and deteriorate over time quicker than, for example the siding shown here. A lot of scraping and prep work here before we paint. Also up on the roof is Mike covering up the shingles tp prevent any over-spray from getting on them.

The client had really nice wooden shutters that needed a little TLC. Insects, mainly bees bored holes in many of them. Here's Chris working on filling the holes with a special epoxy. |

If you are in a wooded area with lots of critters and insects, you may want to consider using vinyl or composite made shutters instead of wood. Some of the shutters were completely eaten away by the bees and entire sections had to be replaced. After they were all sanded down they were stacked up and ready for new paint. |

The color my client chose for the shutters really added a lot of class to the overall finished look of the home. The flat black really stands out against the stucco color and turned out nice.

This vent (after lots of scraping) looks like new again, and notice the clean lines against the existing shingles where we had our canvas tarps covering them from over-spray.

Electric meters can be painted, just remember to mask off the glass area so the electric company can get a clear view for a reading. Boxes and other devices on the house always look better when they are painted to blend in with the siding.

Here is Simon painting the chimney brick with the main house color. Notice the gutter, wood siding, and stucco. They were all sprayed with the same product leaving a consistent finish. |

The second color was used on a few of the doors and windows to highlight one of the main entrances of the house. It also matches the factory finish on the gararge door. |

Everything is starting to come together now. The accent color (green) looks sharp. Check out that chimney now that is has been repainted. SWEET! |
