Installing an Acoustic Drop Ceiling

Installing an Acoustic Drop Ceiling project

Laying out the room so I wouldn't wind up with a small piece of tile on the other side I started the suspension system using the main beams that you see here. ( Main beams have slots and holes built into them, the holes are for the suspension wires and the slots are with what you lock in the cross tees) Notice that one of the panels is different... This is a light panel I installed as I put up the ceiling. There are different types of lenses you can use. I have three 18" florescent fixtures behind a 2'x4' light lens.

Here's a shot of the tricky angle piece with the tiles installed...the little piece missing I'll fill in later using scraps or left over pieces without having to cut from a full piece.

Suspending the main beams is simply a screw with wire twisted securely around both the beam and the drywall screw...*** Continue to check the beams and cross tees with your level as you go. I put a wire about every 2 to 3 feet as needed.
